Re: Origin teams - Game 1
Finch called into side for Gower, Orford overlooked.
QLD should win by thousands now.

Re: Origin teams - Game 1
*sigh*
I picked Qld on the basis that their halves (Thurston and Lockeyer) looked a sharper combo than Gower the Groper and Anasta the Has Been WHo Never Was.
Just my luck that it ended up with the two Rooster teamates playing together...
NOTE TO DANNY BUDERUS:
If you are captain of NSW and your team is 6 points up with not much time left on the clock and IN POSSESSION IN THEIR OWN 22, and some QLD maggot mussses up your hair with his boot while you are on the ground, DON'T GET UP, PLAY THE BALL and then PUNCH THE OTHER GUY. That almost cost NSW the game when you were penalised by the referee after the touch judge (the one with the white cane and Labrador) only saw the punch.

Re: Origin teams - Game 1
Even I managed to see that - and I didn't have my glasses on! Terrible ref/touchie decision *shakes head* but it's about the standard we're used to I guess... I was amazed the blues won, after all those changes tot he team. Some people were blowing up about Finch, but really, who else could you pick? He's been there before, he's anasta's team mate, and only had a few hours to click in with the team. I don't think anyone else could have slotted in so well, so quickly. And I wonder when Hodgo's going to find his lucky boots or whatever it is this season ... 50% success last night, 57% for the season, as opposed to 87% last year ...not good... ANd the one mistake almost cost NSW the same way a similar single mistake in the dying stages of the Knights game cost the Tigers, although there didn't appear to be any 'help' from an opponent's hand on the ball last night.
All in all, that's teh kind of SOO game I like to watc - one team streaks away, the other claws them back ... and then a FG decides it ... how exciting!!! 2 weeks till the return at Lang woohooo bring it on!

I hate to spread rumours - but what else does one do with them?

Re: Origin teams - Game 1
I have to say that the atmosphere at Telstra was alittle disappointing. Nothing at all like last year when Joey made his return. Pretty quiet all in all

Re: Origin teams - Game 1
I think it'll be more intense for the next match, in Brisbane.

Re: Origin teams - Game 1
The Brisbane games always seem more intense than Sydney ones. Have to wonder what the Melbourne one will be like.

Orford, much better player IMO, but declined due to injury.

Cold and wet, but a zillion Melburnians will turn up because there's nothing else to do down there.
